That husband of mine, I tell ya. Just when I think he can't get any more awesome, he goes and sends me on a weekend trip to Victoria to celebrate my brother's wedding. It wasn't feasible for the whole family little girls and all, to attend-- and we didn't have anyone to watch the kids so Rich and I could escape together (that would have been nice! Another time, I suppose!) So, he told me to book the ticket and go!

It has been such a treat to sneak away and visit with family I haven't seen in a while. It also was wonderful, of course, to celebrate my brother's wedding and welcome a new sister into the family. Yay girls!

We got out and about touring beautiful Victoria, beginning with a trip to the children's far in Beacon Hill Park, where the peacocks roam free and the goats make everyone smile.

The lush greenery was luxurious and so revitalizing--our Yukon trees are just now sprouting leaves, and the winter-dead grass is still waiting to go green in the sun and under sprinklers. I can't remember the last time I got to walk under a Weeping Willow tree.

We shopped (treats for the girls and of course, their Daddy), ate frozen yogurt, ate seafood, ate brunch, ate at Rebar, ate all day really. Then we sat and watched the boats under beautiful seaside sun.

I'm missing the fam jam, but boy, it is so refreshing to rest and relax for a bit before we get moving, dive into real estate and--oh yes, have a baby.
