On the lunch tray today



For anyone wondering, the little ladies are growing healthy and strong. I call them my little gourmands, which is a refined way of saying they eat ferociously and love food. Abby and I made some granola bars the other day (the recipe from the Looneyspoons collected anthology), that are sugar-free, so we shared some with Hailey and Robin after lunch. 
They prefer being spoon-fed, but I prefer giving them something they can feed themselves, because that grants me a few brief moments to eat my own meal. Crowd favourites are toast with molasses, chicken bones with a few pieces of meat left on them, and banana halves.
I am feeding them more variety than I had with Abby, and include everything we eat (except honey), because (among other reasons), we don't have any allergies in our family, and the girls seem to handle everything well so far. They've even ingested the risque egg whites, walnuts, peanut butter, fish, strawberries and tomatoes. So far so good, and these little gourmands happily shovel it all in!
