Waiting Game

I'm back from a grocery haul into Whitehorse. Hopefully, it is one of the last few we go on as we count down to our move back to town. With Rich's work, everything is so tentative until the golden ticket comes out (the transfer notice), so until then all we can do is plan to move, gander at houses and wait. I went to see three houses in Whitehorse, and all three were expected to sell within a day! Crazy! So pretty much, when we see a house online that we like, we'll have to haul ass to Whitehorse that day or the next, view it, get it inspected and put in an offer within 24 hours! And chances are, we'll be competing for the house, so we'll have to offer high, with few or no conditions. This is all so foreign and adult to me!
I'm scared that in typical fashion, at zero hour something will come up and the transfer will be delayed, or complicated or conditional. I definitely don't like my life plans being at the mercy of someone else's push of a button.
That said, we are learning to enjoy our last couple of months in Ross River. We're throwing out and giving away the stuff we don't want to take with us. We're constantly spring cleaning, not wanting to leave a dirty house for the next residents. We're taking lots of walks and seeing lots of wildlife we certainly won't be seeing from a subdivision lot. We're trying to downsize our pantry, so we don't move with cupboard full of broths, soups and pasta. After all, soon we won't have to buy groceries for 6 weeks at a time! Joy!

  1. Oh Sarah, I can relate to how all of your future plans are at the mercy of someone else....the story of our lives.
It's nice to hear that you are in the midst of preparing for the move. Always nice to have something to look forward to.
    I wish I had some news :o(
